My favourite part of the exhibition is the strange-looking dome in Howl’s Moving Castle gallery — revealing to be the Secret Garden Howl gifted to Sophie. With the OST Merry-Go-Round of Life by Joe Hisaishi in the background, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia and awe.

My Neighbour Totoro (1988)
Spot Totoro sleeping in its cave and take a photograph with Totoro, Mei, and Satsuki. The staff members on duty will assist with the photo taking — a plus point for the exhibition!
Princess Mononoke (1997)
I loved Studio Ghibli films for their fantastical elements, riveting storylines, and how each story weaved in a theme that mirrored our reality. For instance, Princess Mononoke shares the message of peaceful co-existence with nature and the importance of protecting our environment.
Spirited Away (2001)
One of my favourite films, Spirited Away, is a visual masterpiece. Following Chihiro’s journey into the realm of gods and spirits, it’s a harrowing tale of courage, friendship, and love. Resilience in the face of absolute destruction and fear, and learning to love and protect.
I’ve watched Spirited Away countless times, and I still discover extra details today. For instance, the food Chihiro’s father had eaten was the stomach of a coelacanth, a dish meant only for the gods. Henceforth, the curse, and thus begins the arduous journey.

A visual feast and more: There are two interactive sections for visitors to get hands-on. In the Totoro gallery, we get to make an origami in the likeness of Totoro, while in the Spirited Away gallery, we are invited to draw little sootballs.
