Turi Beach Resort Review: A Serene Nongsa Escape Minutes from Singapore

9 November 2025

It started with a simple conversation, an acquaintance mentioning a seaside getaway perfect for unwinding. That spark turned into an idea for a birthday celebration, and soon, I found myself booking a short weekend trip to Turi Beach Resort with my friend.

Miss Marple was right – sometimes inspiration hides in casual chatter.

Getting There

Located just a 40-minute ferry ride from Singapore, Turi Beach Resort sits on the quieter edge of Batam Island, in the Nongsa area. Upon arrival, a shuttle bus was waiting right outside the immigration centre, whisking us straight to the resort. The transfer was smooth, efficient, and well-prepared, setting the tone for the rest of our stay.

First Impressions & Room

Turi Beach is surrounded by lush greenery and gentle waves, giving it a tucked-away, rustic charm. Our Tirta Seaview Room was spacious and spotless, blending warm wood and rattan textures with modern comforts, while thoughtful touches like mosquito repellent neatly placed in the closet highlighted the resort’s attention to detail. The balcony opened onto a tranquil stretch of ocean, its view partially framed by swaying palm trees.

Dining at the Resort

We dined at the resort’s restaurants during our stay, each offering its own charm. At Nogusaya Teppanyaki Restaurant, the chef cooked right before us,  the fragrance of sizzling seafood and meat filling the air as each dish was freshly plated. The energy was lively, the food flavourful, and the experience engaging.

Over at Isabel Mediterranean Resto & Bar, the atmosphere shifted to something more serene – an open-air setting where candlelight danced with the sea breeze underneath the moonlit sky.

I ordered their creamy crayfish spaghetti, and it turned out to be one of the best pasta I’ve ever tasted. The sauce was luxuriously creamy, the crayfish fresh and sweet, and every bite left a lingering richness.

Facilities & Atmosphere

Everything we could want for a slow, restorative weekend sits just a short stroll away. From two outdoor pools (plus a children’s pool) to an exciting range of water sports, the resort is designed for both play and pause.

Yet, it was the swim that was the highlight. Gliding through the quiet pool beneath the dark sky, far removed from the city’s hustle and bustle. The gentle hush of waves nearby and the serene surroundings made the experience rather surreal.

Final Thoughts

Serenity.

The place is ideal for couples, families, friends, or anyone craving a quick recharge away from the city’s pulse. If you’re looking for a destination that feels both near and far, Turi Beach Resort delivers that quiet in-between – a tranquil escape only a ferry ride away.

A little message

Happy 30th Birthday to us!

A special shout-out to my friend of twenty-five years – Joslyn. It’s incredible how our friendship has not only endured but grown stronger with time. Here’s to a life filled with beautiful coincidences, shared laughter, and another toast of wine twenty-five years from now.
