Winding Serpents: Casetify Basilisk Case Review

13 June 2024

Casetify is popular for its fancy designs and collaborations, shockproof protection, and a high price point. As a late adopter to the trend in town, I am finally here to pen my thoughts on my new phone case.

The Basilisk Case

I was an avid user of Elago products until Casetify eventually captured me with their advertisements. I have always had an eye on the Harry Potter series, and I eventually purchased the gorgeous Basilisk Case.

Unfortunately, the case does not cover my lens area (Samsung Galaxy).

I wasn’t too pleased when I first saw the product, but I supposed it’s on me for not doing any due diligence before making the purchase. I had been expecting a mirror case as stated on the website, but the product had come as an embossed design on a matte surface.

Casetify offered to do a refund or an exchange for me, honouring their 10-day no-fuss return policy. They had also explained that there was indeed a mirror case beneath the design. (Although I am not exactly sure how that works, but kudos for the quick responses).

In the end, I kept the case simply for its design. The colours are vibrant, almost iridescent under the light, and the artwork has more than made up for my disappointment. The sturdy case has also kept my phone scratch-free thus far.

Final Verdict

It is a yes for me, easily strumming my heartstrings with the iconic Harry Potter collaboration. Although the case is indeed bulky, I loved the design and the protection it provided.

While Casetify has more designs catered for iPhones, I’m looking forward to more Android models too.
